About Udochi Emeghara

Udochi Emeghara joined CARE in October 2022 as a community organizer for the organization. She will graduate from Harvard University in May 2023 with a focus in Neuroscience on the Mind, Brain, Behavior Track. Udochi has always been passionate about reaching underserved and marginalized communities. During her middle school and high school years, she actively volunteered to teach and mentor children in different community spaces. During her college career, she worked as a research assistant at the Stress and Development Lab, investigating the impact of early-life adversity on brain structure and function. This work further exposed her to the numerous barriers that different communities face while trying to access resources. As a result, she will spend her time at CARE highlighting community opinions and perspectives in order to create initiatives and interventions to aid the mental wellbeing of the greater Boston area. In her free time, Udochi enjoys participating in theater (her favorite musical is the Color Purple) and faith spaces. She also makes a mean sweet potato casserole and jollof rice (a Nigerian rice dish).
