The Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research helps researchers investigate the "why" and "how" of questions related to healthcare and biomedicine.
The Division of Clinical Research's Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research Unit provides consultations in qualitative and mixed methods study design and execution.
The Unit's consultations advise investigators on all aspects of qualitative and mixed methods study design, data collection, interpretation and publication of study findings, feedback on draft research proposals and identification of potential collaborators.
*Please ensure that you have obtained software to complete qualitative analyses on your own computer, as the QRU does not provide this resource. The QRU suggests NVIVO as the preferred software tool. /
see the HMS Research Software Tools webpage for information on how to download NVIVO and the associated costs. https://collaborate.hms.harvard.edu/display/RITS/Research+Software+Tools
**Please note that all QMMRU services are only offered to MGH faculty and staff. This includes; courses, workshops, consultations, and the training cohort.
The DCR's qualitative research consultations advise investigators on qualitative research design, data collection, interpretation publication of study findings, consensus methods and health communications. Requests are triaged and assigned to consultants depending on expertise and availability.
