What to Expect at Your First Visit
If you have a known diagnosis: You will meet with a physician who specializes in lysosomal disorders. They will review your medical records, take a detailed medical history, and work with you to create a treatment plan. Expect the visit to take 60 to 80 minutes. Lab work and other orders and referrals will be recommended.
If you suspect a lysosomal disorder: You will meet with a genetic counselor who specializes in lysosomal disorders. They will review your medical records, take a detailed medical and family history, and recommend and coordinate follow up testing. Expect the visit to take about 60 minutes. In most cases, the visit can be virtual or in person.
