Overview
The Mass General Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center (CIRC), a joint cardiology-radiology program, is accepting applications for one- or two-year research fellows with the possibility of extension. The start date is flexible, with a preference for candidates starting in July or August 2022.
Goal of Fellowship
The MGH CIRC research fellowship focuses on research and publication in advanced areas of cardiovascular imaging. The fellowship offers extensive training in basic and advanced cardiovascular imaging interpretation, with a particular focus on coronary CTA including coronary artery stenosis, coronary artery plaque characterization, quantitative plaque volume measurements, pericoronary adipose tissue, and machine learning. Fellows will join an experienced team with an established record of landmark publications in coronary CTA, many of which were led and co-authored by fellows.
Research Experience
The MGH Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center has an active research program that has produced over 500 publications and has been awarded more than 15 NIH grants. Faculty are recognized leaders in cardiovascular imaging, including leadership of imaging societies, editors of journals, and principal investigators of large multicenter trials.
The CIRC fellowship primarily focuses on the development of publishing research work as a first and co-author in renowned international journals. As fellows are exposed to various research laboratories, they will be introduced to diverse cardiovascular imaging research projects. Research projects range from basic MR and CT technology development and dose reduction techniques to large multicenter randomized controlled trials such as ROMICAT II, PROMISE, the Framingham Heart Study, and REPRIEVE. CIRC has also been at the forefront of machine learning applications in cardiovascular imaging, with CIRC-based AI expertise and collaborations with the Mass General Brigham AI in Medicine Program.
Fellows receive an appointment at Harvard Medical School.
