Support Our Work
Charitable support plays a crucial role in our ability to make scientific advances for tomorrow’s life-saving treatments.
Research in ischemic stroke focuses on the prevention, treatment and recovery from strokes that occur following a sudden blockage of the arteries supplying the brain.
There are almost 800,000 strokes each year in the U.S., which is the leading cause of neurological mortality and disability worldwide. Some of the questions our faculty address include:
BrainGate2: Feasibility Study of an Intracortical Neural Interface System for Persons With Tetraplegia
CHARM: Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Intravenous BIIB093 (Glibenclamide) for Severe Cerebral Edema Following Large Hemispheric Infarction
DEFUSE-3: Endovascular Therapy Following Imaging Evaluation for Ischemic Stroke 3
GAMES-RP: Glyburide Advantage in Malignant Edema and Stroke
