Since launching in 2011, the Mass General Center for TeleHealth has been enabling community providers and Mass General clinicians to provide high-quality, coordinated care to patients and families through virtual technology.  The Cetner represents a diverse team of hospital leaders, care providers, and clinical and administrative staff that are committed to enhancing patient care using telehealth services.

Lee Schwamm

Lee H. Schwamm, MD - Center Director, Center for TeleHealth

Dr. Lee Schwamm leads the Center for TeleHealth and is the Director of the Partners TeleStroke Center, a network which currently provides acute stroke consultation services to over 30 rural and community hospitals in Massachusetts and Northern New England. Dr. Schwamm also serves as a Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, and as the Executive Vice Chairman of Neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Schwamm is a recognized leader in the field on the acute stroke treatment, stroke advocacy, and in the use of telemedicine and other TeleHealth strategies to improve the quality of stroke care.

Juan Estrada

Juan Estrada - Senior Director, Virtual Consults Program

Juan Estrada oversees Virtual Consults Services and provides administrative oversight to all TeleHealth Programs in the Mass General Department of Neurology. Juan leads the design and execution of provider to provider services across Mass General as well as the development of the TeleHealth Portal, which is the web application that enables the workflow, documentation and analytical support of these consultative services. Juan is driven by an aspiration to continuously improve and redesign healthcare delivery thorough innovation and technologies that enable remote, expeditious care. Juan holds master’s degrees in Bioengineering and Telemedicine as well as in Business Administration with a focus in Healthcare.

Denise Curran

Denise Curran - Program Director, Virtual Consults Program

Denise Curran is responsible for identifying physician-to-physician telehealth clinical consultative opportunities. In collaboration with TeleNeurology and Network Development teams, Denise is expanding synchronous and asynchronous telehealth-enabled program offerings. Prior to joining the TeleHealth Team, Denise worked as a program leader in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, physician practices and system contracting networks. Denise is eager to utilize telehealth technology to expand access to Mass General's specialty clinical expertise. Denise earned her master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Emily Dehmer

Emily Dehmer – Project Manager, Virtual Consults Program

Emily is responsible for the management of Inpatient Virtual Consult Implementation, the Neurology Virtual Visit program, Outpatient Virtual Consults and the National TeleStroke Alliance Program.  Emily joined the TeleNeurology team after graduating with her Healthcare MBA from Questrom School of Business and MPH from the School of Public Health at Boston University.  Prior to graduate school, Emily worked as a Project Coordinator at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Quality Improvement.  

Benjamin Kramer

Benjamin Kramer - Project Manager, Virtual Consults Program

Benjamin Kramer is responsible for implementing and managing the Virtual Consult programs as well as assisting with the scoping and creation of new virtual consult initiatives. Prior to joining Mass General, Benjamin worked for a Boston-based human services provider managing research, analytic, and technology initiatives. Benjamin earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Brandeis University.

Danielle Trota

 Danielle Trota – Project Manager, Virtual Consults Program

Danielle oversees credentialing and medical licensure operations as well as our communications and outreach platforms. Prior to joining the TeleNeurology Team, she was the Program/Research Coordinator for Cardiac Amyloidosis Program at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Danielle obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and Physiology from Springfield College.

Marcy-Simoni

Marcy Simoni - Director, Virtual Visit Program

Marcy Simoni oversees Virtual Visits and is responsible for the overall strategy and implementation of its programs. Marcy previously worked as a healthcare consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers where she advised healthcare systems and government organizations on operational performance improvement, business transformation, and digital health strategies. She is passionate about leveraging innovation to redesign the way care is traditionally delivered for providers and patients. Marcy holds a Master’s of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Kaitlin Bilodeau

Kaitlin Bilodeau - Administrative Coordinator, Virtual Visit Program

Kaitlin Bilodeau is responsible for the patient registration process as well as assisting with troubleshooting and administrative support for TeleHealth patients and providers. Prior to joining the TeleHealth team, Kaitlin spent several years working with the bone marrow transplant program at Mass General, first as an Operations Associate, then as the Donor Coordinator managing bone marrow and stem cell collections for unrelated donors.

Lauren Lawrence

Lauren M. Lawrence - Senior Project Manager, Virtual Visit, Virtual Consult Program and Marketing and Branding

Lauren M. Lawrence is responsible for implementing and managing Virtual Consult and Virtual Visit programs, while overseeing the marketing and branding efforts across the Center for TeleHealth. Prior to joining the Mass General TeleHealth Department, Lauren was a teacher in the Chicago Public School system and spent 8 years managing large-scale programs and marketing platforms in the media industry.

Jaclyn Leddy

Jaclyn Leddy - Project Manager, Virtual Visit Program

Jaclyn Leddy is responsible for implementing and managing Virtual Visit programs and coordinating billing and reimbursement efforts across the programs.  Jaclyn also oversees the patient registration process. Prior to joining Mass General, Jaclyn worked at Boston Children’s Hospital as an administrative associate.  Jaclyn holds a MBA with a healthcare concentration from Suffolk University.

Samantha Woo

Samantha Woo - Program Coordinator, Virtual Visit Program

Samantha Woo assists with the Virtual Visit implementation efforts and with the patient registration process. Prior to joining Mass General, Samantha worked at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute as a New Patient Coordinator for Hematology Services. She also served as a New Patient Advisory Member working with leadership to provide front line observations and feedback on current or potential process improvement initiatives. Samantha earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a minor in Public Health from Boston University.

Michael Carter

Michael Carter - Director, Technology Operations

Michael Carter oversees Technology Operations and is the Enterprise Manager for Media and Telemedicine Systems at Partners HealthCare System. As a senior leader within the Information Systems department, Mike oversees the development and maintenance of solutions being used in Partners’ hospitals including Brigham and Women's and Mass General. Mike oversees the Partners Collaborative Media team, which is the delivery arm behind the development and integration of Telehealth systems within the organizations core systems such as the electronic medical record, billing, and patient portal.

Benjamin Meller

Benjamin Meller - Program Manager, Technology Operations

Benjamin Meller is responsible for managing the telemedicine technologies used at Mass General and ensuring they fit within the hospital’s existing clinical workflows.  Benji spent five years in various research and administrative positions in the Department of Psychiatry before joining the TeleHealth team.  He has always been a technology enthusiast and thoroughly enjoys integrating cutting-edge technologies with real-world clinical practice.

Michael Sullivan

Michael Sullivan - Senior TeleHealth Engineer, Technology Operations

Mike Sullivan provides technical support for Virtual Visits and Virtual Consults.  Prior to joining Mass General TeleHealth, Mike supported the North Shore Medical Center as a member of their Help Desk. Mike also spent 20 years in Radio Broadcasting as a Producer, Studio Engineer, IT Tech and On-Air Talent.

Andy Tran

Andy Tran, Applications Specialist, Technology Operations

Andy Tran has been working in the Information Technology industry for more than 6 years, fulfilling numerous roles on projects within the Healthcare, Finance, and Education industries. He has comprehensive expertise in providing application support services to achieve optimal performance and reliability of our program. Andy’s main interest revolves around innovative cost-effective technologies that add value and improve services for Mass General TeleNeurology.

Juan Moreta

Juan Moreta - TeleHealth Engineer, Technology Operations

Juan Moreta is responsible for supporting the telemedicine technologies used at Mass General and ensuring that patients and providers are prepared to use the tools provided by TeleHealth. Prior to joining Mass General, Juan worked at Smith & Nephew as a Research & Development Engineer. He studied Electrical Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology and is driven by his passion of integrating the latest technology into making life that much simpler.

Lee Schwamm

Karen Maimone - Program Director, Operations, Center for TeleHealth

Karen Maimone oversees operations for the Center for TeleHealth and is responsible for optimizing operations, integrating work, progress and goals across the programs, and managing CTH’s research and education services. Karen previously worked as a healthcare consultant at ECG Management Consultants where she advised academic health care organizations on interrelationships among component entities of the academic medical center and graduate medical education (GME) planning and strategy. Karen holds a MBA in Health Sector management and a MPH from Boston University.

Lee Schwamm

Janelis Medina, Senior Financial Analyst, Operations, Center for TeleHealth

Janelis Medina is responsible for the financial management and analysis, report and database development, and budget preparation for the MGPO/Mass General Center for TeleHealth. She previously worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at the Boston University Medical Group (BUMG) within Boston Medical Center. Janelis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Business Management with a minor in Healthcare Administration from Simmons University and is currently pursuing a MBA in Healthcare Administration from Cambridge College.

Deborah A. Ritorze - Staff Assistant, Center for TeleHealth

Deborah Ritorze is the Staff Assistant for the Mass General Center for TeleHealth. Prior to joining the TeleHealth Team, Debbie’s professional experience was in Business Development/Account Management in the healthcare insurance space for both the commercial & government program sectors. Her career focus has been on expanding healthcare access through education and innovation. She earned her Masters in Business Administration from Boston University.
